Gypsy Faire and Other Happenings Well, even after being postponed, the Gypsy Faire was held yesterday in Stephens City, VA. The event was held by the NSVPA, and was a really fun and interesting experience.
We didn't sell very much, but it was a tiny venue and the people were nothing but friendly all day.
Watching the dance and drumming workshops were particularly interesting. There were some pretty amazing people there yesterday, even though the crowd was pretty small.
We did drive for nearly eight hours to be there yesterday, so that was a bit of a bummer, but like I said, it was a fun day.
In other news, my application to Festival in the Park in Roanoke, along with my five best slides and two checks were LOST, either by the postal service or by someone in their office.
The notification deadline came and went without me hearing either way, and upon calling the organizers, I was told "we have no record of ever receiving your application".
I was LIVID. We worked so hard getting our slides in on time, only to have them lost???!!!
But, she said they were still taking applications, so I sent another, with my second choice slides and a letter explaining the situation, all certified in hopes that these won't get lost, too.
I have, however, been accepted to participate in the Black Dog Wine and Music Festival at Chateau Morissette on July 14th, which sounds WICKED interesting.
I'll also be working on more chainmaille and experimenting with some metal working techniques in the near future, so be on the lookout for that.
We're still in the process of retaking all my jewelry pictures and it's a long one, as we can only do it on weekends due to our jobs.
Lots going on and I'm trying to keep track of it all. I've never been good at remembering things I needed to! Current Mood: contemplativeCurrent Music: 105.3 The Bear | | Monday, February 26th, 2007 | | 12:20 am |
Clearance Sale @ Lunachick Designs! Why the clearance? I'm pretty much sick of looking at the pieces I made when I first started out and don't really want them in my shop or on my tables at shows!
I'm concentrating on mostly maille from now on, as well as finally diving into some metal working techniques, as my money situation allows.
Still no "real" job and sales aren't great, so I'm doing what I can when I can as far as new pieces are concerned.
Right now I'm focusing on two maille pieces, The Dancer and The Mage, both part of my RPG inspired series of four. Why and RPG? Because I play Final Fantasy WAYYY too much!
You can see the other two, The Thief and The Warrior in my Etsy shop here: Lunachick Designs
I'm trying to keep my pieces priced accordingly, trying to both get what I want out of each as well as offer a good deal to possible buyers, but it's rough. My supplies aren't cheap, so I've been re-evaluating my pricing to see if everything's groovy.
Also on my list of things to do: Retake several pictures, because my scans are just TERRIBLE. But to do that, I've got to get my bestest to do that with her Nikon.
I've also got to go back through what pics I DO have and adjust them so you can actually see the pieces in the previews.
Everyone take care and please send any questions or comments my way!
